Good morning once again everyone,
     I pray you are all well and good in the Lord and in body this morning.
Another Tuesday, "thought of the week morning". Thank you all for your support and prayers in this ministry. Remember to send in your comments and ideas.

     This morning I want to leave "the election" alone only to remind us to pray for our leaders, our country and each other.

I want to title this week's thought .... THE ARMOR OF GOD.

Far be it from me to try and add anything new to this very familiar topic. With God's help we will take a simple look at this again. I believe we often times forget to dress ourselves with the wardrobe God has supplied. He has provided us a wardrobe to wear as we enter into another day of life ( battle ).  As we "dress" in the morning, we need to slip in God's armor first, then we can go to the bathroom and brush our teeth.
                      Ephesians 6:10-18   gives us a look at that wardrobe...........
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Let us take a quick and simple look at the "garments" in which God wants us to clothe ourselves.

Belt of Truth: Let us buckle it securely around our waist. Know that God is with you every step of the way. He alone is the truth in life. (John 14:6) Spend time in His Word and learn His truth!
   Christ is the one and only Truth. He is the truth that all other things are to be compared. In all situations, we need to ask ourselves, "How does this stand up to Christ's standard.
Christ's truth will protect and guide us.   "Buckle up"

Breastplate of Righteousness: As we put on our breastplate, thank God for His never ending mercy towards us. He has given us righteousness when we follow Him. Our righteousness is as filthy rags.
We need to take up our crosses and follow. He will teach us every day if we open our eyes and ears to see and hear Him. The cross is an excellent example of God's mercy to us. He gave His Son for us so that we may spend eternity with Him. We have no righteousness on our own or apart from Christ. Let's put it on and wear it proudly. Contrary to today's society...we are nothing. But we are with God.

Shoes of Peace: Without God in our lives, we could not have peace. The same way we stand in our shoes for support and protection, think of Christ as that strength and foundation in which we walk. He is what we should stand on. The "peace that surpasses all understanding" (Philippians 4:7) is available to us as we give our lives entirely over to His control. As we strap on our shoes each day, let's give our cares and concerns to Him and ask Him to carry them. God's Peace will be left in their place.

Shield of Faith: This is another defensive weapon in our arsenal. We use this piece of armor to guard against the constant assaults by the enemy (1 Peter 5:8-9 ), of which I assure you there will be many. Each morning as we pick up our shields, we need to thank God for our faith. Faith that comes in knowing He will never leave or forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:8). Let us keep the faith forever in front of us.

Helmet of Salvation: When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are given this defensive piece of armor to protect us. We know that we have been saved and that faith will lead us into to battles we face here on this earth.. We can do so willingly, knowing that we will spend eternity with Him. "If God be for us' who then can be against us" ? We KNOW we are saved. Don't doubt it, put on the helmet. Let's protect our heads (minds) with it. Don't let Satan mess with our heads. We know that we have salvation.

The Sword of the Spirit: This is our offensive weapon in the armor of God mentioned in this passage. Our sword is His Word, the Bible. With it we can slay the evil in the world as it presents itself to us. Read your Bible, learn His Word and memorize verses. Let us hide it in our hearts and keep it on the tip of your tongue. God's word is one of the mightiest weapon we can have. It shows us how to defeat every situation and circumstance. Keep it sharpened.

Dressed in this armor daily, we are prepared to enter the world. Without it we will fall prey to attack. 1 Peter 5:8-9 ...Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

We need to get back to the basics and meditate on and seriously think about each piece as put it on and thank God for supplying us with His armor to protect us.
God's armor brings victory because it is way more than a protective covering. It is the very life of Jesus Christ Himself. "Put on the armor of light," wrote Paul in his letter to the Romans, "...clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 13:12-14) When we do, He becomes our hiding place, and shelter in the storm (just as He was to David). Clothed in Him, we can count on His victory, for He not only covers us as a shield, He also fills us with His life. So we see it is more than a wardrobe, it is indeed, a way of life.

As always, God Bless and thanks for listening,

                                                                      In Christ's Service,
                                                                    an unworthy servant.
